Kugoo G-Booster Upgrade and Maintenance Kit

ree

As you may already know, if you've seen my video below, Kugoo G-booster is a powerful scooter but needs some upgrades so we can bring out the best of it.

Let's start with the tires. The scooter comes with 10" tubeless ones, however, they are very low quality in my option. I have replaced mine with CST ones, tubeless, but 11" diameter and 3" wide. I find them way more comfortable and can ride at least 3x the miles I would ride with the standard ones.

You can choose a tubeless 11" model from here:

If, for any reasons, you find any joy in riding with the original tires, you can get replacement ones from here.

Moving on, there are a few upgrades available for the rear fender too. You can replace the whole fender, or you can add a foot rest to it. This only depends on your style of riding.

If you, for any reasons, need the original fenders, you can get them from here.

The upgrade that this scooter desperately needs is an adjustable stem.

There are plenty of them out there so you just have to get which one you like the best.

You have to trust me when I say that once you install one of there on the scooter it feels like a whole new machine. The handling will be AMAZING.

One VERY important thing to consider before riding this scooter are the brakes. If it doesn't already come with hydraulic brakes, my advise is to update those as soon as possible. The scooter is too heavy and powerful to be riding it with cheap mechanical brakes. There are some good options available and they also include the electric brake wires:

Speaking of brakes, my advice is to install 160mm disc brakes on this scooter. They are cheap and make a HUGE difference. Thank me later.

Now comes a more difficult part, because you will have to test each kind of brake pads and see which ones you like the best. At least that's what I did, and I ended up only using ceramic ones.

ree

These brake pads are made from ceramic very similar to the type of ceramic used to make pottery and plates, but is denser and a lot more durable. Ceramic brake pads also have fine copper fibers embedded within them, to help increase their friction and heat conductivity.

Since they were developed in the mid-1980s, ceramic brake pads have been consistently increasing in popularity for a number reasons:

  • Noise-Level: Ceramic brake pads are very quiet, creating little-to-no extra sound when the brakes are applied.

  • Wear & Tear Residue: Compared to organic brake pads, ceramic brake pads tend to produce less dust and other particles over time as they wear down.

  • Temperature & Driving Conditions: Compared to organic brake pads, ceramic brake pads can be more reliable in a wider range of temperatures and driving conditions.

There are also lots of materials available, like:

Optional (if your G-booster doesn't already have these), you can get some bright headlights with

stroboscope, an USB rechargeable horn and an internal alarm.

WATERPROOFIG THE SCOOTER

This is DYI process and you will have to be really careful not to miss any spots.

You can use this adhesive sponge strip for the battery lid and the insulting adhesive for any exposed electrical wires.

I made a video about this liquid adhesive, you just apply it on the wires and let it dry.

Now if you ever replace the motor wires, as I did on my G-booster, you will also need a high temperature resistant sealant so you can protect the coil from moisture.

ree

It has excellent moisture-proof, aging resistance and electrical insulation performance.

Now let's talk tools. If you want to disassemble the motor you will need a 1/2 wrench and a 24mm socket.

However, this tool will only work on the suspension nut. For the motor nut (because of the wire) you will need a special one that is way too expensive, so I just made a cutout into a 24mm regular wrench.

Also, if your scooter didn't come with an allen key set, don't forget to get yourself one. These will save you a lot of time.

Now these colorful washers are not mandatory at all, but I just love them. So here are a few models.

If you need replacement parts, you can always find them here.

Also, this scooter could use a bigger battery.

If I forgot to mention anything, please leave a comment and I will make sure to include it.
